About Gene

Nice to meet you! I’m Gene (they/he/she), a storyteller based out of New England. I’ve been drawing, painting, and writing for over twenty-five years. To me, storytelling is as vital as breathing.

I specialize in long-form prose, digital art, and traditional inking. My files are full of novels, comics, and short stories. In nonfiction, I’ve worked as an editor and graphic artist on newsletters, academic papers, and marketing materials.

I graduated from Georgia Tech with a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science—which, you might notice, isn’t writing or art. I tried my hand at the corporate grind, but ultimately started down the long road back to my true passions. I know better than anyone that artificial “intelligence” can’t replace human voices, and there are thousands of underappreciated voices that must be heard.

Common themes in my own work are neurodivergence, found family, critiquing black-and-white morality and the chosen one’s narrative, and queer joy.

I spend my spare time (ha, spare time!) playing RPGs both on consoles and with 20-sided dice on a table. I’m a terrible cook, a decent musician, and a huge nerd for obscure manga and fanfiction.
